Resolves an issue where the system frequently prompts ‘Intel Optane(tm) Memory Pinning’
Users using Windows 10 may encounter this problem, and a prompt often pops up in the lower right corner, titled Intel Optane (tm) Memory Pinning, which reads:
Unable to load DLL ́iaStorAfsServiceApi.dll ́ : The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E.)

The problem is caused by a failure in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver, or with the Optane Pinning Explorer Extensions.
Solution 1: Uninstall the Optane extension
- Right-click the Start menu to open Apps & Features
- Search for Intel
- Uninstall Intel Optane Pinning Explorer Extensions
- Restart your PC
Solution 2: Update the IRST driver
Visit the support page of the manufacturer’s website to download and install Intel Rapid Storage Technology Application and Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.
